  • Outpatient Services: Monday - Saturday 9AM - 1PM, 3PM - 7PM

All visitors must follow the specified rules and regulations at the hospital. Visitors must meet patients only during visiting hours and must not exceed the limit of time specified. We also request you to avoid visiting if you suffer from contagious diseases. This is to ensure the wellbeing of our patients.

We want you to be as comfortable as possible. You are welcome to bring your own sleepwear, personal care items and toiletries. Please label your personal belongings such as glasses, hearing aids, dentures, crutches, walker etc. We encourage you to leave valuables, such as jewelry, money, credit cards, checkbooks or anything else of value, at home or with a family member.

Santhosh Hospital has well-appointed Twin Sharing Rooms with a special hospital bed, a bedside stand for your personal belongings, a telephone, an over-bed table and a small closet space.

Consumption of Alcohol, Smoking and use of Narcotic Substances is strictly prohibited in the hospital premises.

Please provide a complete list of your current medications, dosages and times taken including any over-the-counter, naturopathic or herbal remedies you are taking. Please inform us if there are any medications to which you are allergic or intolerant.

If you have any concerns about your care during your hospital stay, please talk with your care providers and/or the hospital PRO.

Santhosh Hospital is situated at Thalassery (Telicherry) a coastal city located off National Highway 66 in northern part of Kerala (South India), a region also known as Malabar. Thalassery is well connected with rest of Kerala and India with excellent public transport, rail & air connectivity.

Santhosh Hospital is located on Old TC Road, 0.25km off the Thalassery - Mysore Road from National Highway 66.

Santhosh Hospital is just 100 meters from Thalassery New Bus Stand . Bus services connect Thalassery to Calicut (65 Kms), Mangalore (177 Kms), Cochin (289 Kms), Bangalore (338 Kms), Chennai (510 Kms) and all other major cities in South India.

The nearest (about 0.75kms) railway station is Thalassery (Tellicherry) which is linked to the rest of the country by Konkan and Southern Railway Divisions.

Thalassery Railway Station operates under the Palakkad Railway Division of the Southern Railway . It is a Class 'A' railway station. It is on the Shoranur - Mangalore line.

The nearest International airport is the newly opened Kannur international Airport , about 24 kms from Thalassery

Calicut International Airport, Karipur is about 93 km away. Mangalore International Airport and Cochin International Airport could be alternate choices..

Message to the Patients

For the prevention of Piles and other diseases you have to cultivate regular habits in food and exercise. It is essential that fibre-containing foods like fruits, and vegetables also should be included in sufficient quantities. As far as possible, fruits should be taken with the outer covering and the habit of preparing fruit juice in modern mixies discarding the fiber containing residue, should be discouraged.

Taking lot of water is good for the prevention of Piles as well as stones in the urinary passage. It is not advisable to sit for a long time at one stretch. Straining too much in toilet and going to the toilet at frequent intervals is not advisable. And the system of taking laxatives and purgatives is also a bad habit. But fibre-containing bulk producing laxatives like Isabgol Husks can be taken in sufficient quantities for re-educating the bowel habits.

By adopting suitable family planning methods, number of deliveries should be brought down so that incidence of Piles also will be reduced. Even if you are well, it is advisable to go to your doctor or Hospital for a complete medical check-up periodically for prevention of disease as well as for the detection of early warning signs.

10 to 15 out of every 1000 patients coming to us presenting with the symptoms of Piles are having malignancy of Colon and Rectum. Most of these patients land up late, after undergoing prolonged treatment by alternative systems of medicine without proper local examination. The tragic part of the story is that they again go back to native treatment even after diagnosis of Malignancy confirmed by Biopsy.

Now we have got effective diagnostic and preventive methods for Diabetes, Hypertension, and Heart disease even before the patient is aware of it. So by taking the necessary corrective measures by changing food habits, physical exercise and also by avoiding smoking and excessive drinking of Alcohol, you can be a useful member of the society. Once you become ill, it affects not only your health but it affects the health of the family, society and the nation at large.
